Sunshine and Happiness: Let's Scrap Sketches Design Team

Hey scrappy friends!! It's sketch reveal time again over at Let's Scrap!

Here is the sketch we are working with:

No automatic alt text available.

And here is my take on the sketch:

I started with white card stock from American Crafts. All of my patterned paper is from the Simple Stories 'Sunshine and Happiness' collection. The majority of my embellishments are from that same collection.

These photos are 10 years old and feature my boys playing outside at their grandparents house. Such fun and such great memories.

For my title area, I made banners to go on both sides of my layout and added in a flower from the Doodlebug 'Fun in the Sun' odds and ends pack. The small frames that run down the sides of the layout are also from that pack.

I used a scalloped border punch from Fiskars to add under each title.

I decorated all of the little frames using stickers and chipboard.

I did a little stamping using the 'Emeline' stamp set from Felicity Jane along with some teal ink from Heidi Swapp.  I  loved adding in all of the little bits and pieces around the layout.

I cut this cute heart out of one of the 3x4 cards that came in the collection pack. I added a camera die cut, a chipboard flower and then put a brad in the center of the camera.

This floral piece was another item that was fussy cut from a piece of paper.

I used a few sequins from the 'Spring Mix' from Spiegelmom's Scraps. She has awesome sequin mixes if you are looking for some.

I hope you enjoyed looking at all of the fun elements on this layout. Join us over at Let's Scrap and maybe you could win a prize!!

Be Silly: Clique Kits Guest Designer Layout

Hey scrappy friends!! I have another layout for you using the Jellybean kit from Clique Kits. And I know you will never believe it but it has MORE Snapchat photos!! Ha! What can I say, I love Snapchat!!

I used the ombre pink paper from Pink Paislee for the pink circles. The yellow circles are from a Bella Blvd. paper that is in the kit. I also used the polka dot vellum from the kit and some black card stock from my stash.

Before placing all of the circles, I knew I wanted to add some mixed media to my layout. I started by using a gelato in the color called banana. I scribbled it on my background and then I used a baby wipe to spread it onto the paper. I used black, white and pink paint from Liquitex. I used a large dry brush and swiped the paint on. I wanted to see the brush strokes in the paint. I love the added texture!

Once the paint was dry, I placed down all of the circles, mainly using the pink ones and adding in the others for just a pop of color.

I knew I wanted to use the black and white striped bag that some of the embellishments from the kit came in. I layered a doily from the kit on top of the bag and then added my pictures on top. I added some dimension to the photos by placing some craft foam under them. I sprinkled three of the Freckled Fawn foam words around my page and the word 'laugh' ended up on top of my photos. I mean how can you look at those silly photos and not laugh!! ;)  I added the 'she's crafty' flair from the kit and a bow from Bella Blvd. Under my photo area, I used that pink ombre paper again to make a tag. I added in some black and white twine from my stash.

I used the white alpha stickers from Elle's Studio for my title.  Around my title, I added a foam heart from the Freckled Fawn embellishments in the kit as well as a pink punched heart.

To finish up the layout, I used all of the hot pink and black hexagon enamel shapes. I love how they
look mixed in with the circles.

I hope you enjoyed this layout and that you will stop over and check out all of the wonderful stuff that Clique Kits has to offer.

Snapchat Love: Let's Scrap Sketches Design Team

It's sketch reveal day over at Let's Scrap. Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

Yes, I know--me and Snapchat, AGAIN!! What can I say? Those filters are just awesome!! And I like what I like! :)

I used a cut file from Paper Issues for the hearts. I watercolored some of them and on the others I used Heidi Swapp Color shine.

I cut out the gorgeous flowers from an Echo Park 'Just Be You' collection paper. I put a cluster of the flowers on each page of my layout. All of the patterned paper is from that same collection as well. I used a scalloped border punch from Fiskars to make the scalloped strip.

I added in some word strips around the layout that are from Simple Stories.
I used some gorgeous sequins from Spiegelmom's Scraps on the layout.

The alphas that make up my title are from Pink Fresh Studio and they are the 'Indigo Puffy Alpha.'

I also watercolored a few more hearts and placed a few beside the title and then a long strip of them across the top of both pages of the layout.

With a little sprinkle of some mist around the layout, it was done.

I hope you will join us over at Let's Scrap and play along. You could win a prize for linking up your layout.
