Let's Scrap Sketches: Little Slugger

Hi friends!! Can you believe it's September?

Here is the September 1 sketch for Let's Scrap Sketches:

Here is my take on the sketch:

It was nice to finally get some of these older pictures scrapped. These pictures are from 2010 and are of my youngest son.

The red polka dot paper is from a school paper pad by Craft Smith that I bought at Michael's.

The baseball paper is an old paper that I've had forever. I'm glad I finally used some of it. I cut the baseball bats on some brown, textured card stock using my Silhouette.

The 4 x 4 card, play ball, large baseball star, baseball glove are some images that I cut out of a piece of Doodlebug Designs 'Home Run' Paper.

I made the baseball flags using a stamp, paper and tooth picks. The baseball embellishment with the brad in the center is from Making Memories.

I made this baseball player using a stamp and just fussy cut it.

For my title, the white letters are from Felicity Jane and the blue letters are Thickers. I made the baseball with a stamp set.

I use watered down white acrylic paint to make the splatters on the background.

I hope you enjoy my take on this sketch. Join us at Let's Scrap and play along!

Let's Scrap Sketches-You are my sunshine

Hello scrappy friends!! Can you believe that it's August?? Where has the summer gone??!!

Well it's time for another sketch from Let's Scrap Sketches! Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

As you can see, I turned my sunburst to to the top of the page instead of the side. I also did a 12x12 layout on the left and a 6x12 on the right. That is the beauty of sketches!!

All of the paper and a lot of the sticker embellishments are from the Echo Park 'Here and Now' Collection.

The word 'sunshine' and the 'you and me' are Thickers from the 'Dream' sheet.

I used watercolor and some Heidi Swapp Colorshine for the yellow sunbursts. I used the colors 'butter' and 'gold lame'

I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch and that you will stop by and play along with us!

Let's Scrap Sketches Design Team-Boys and their Toys

Happy July, my scrappy friends!! I hope you all can find some time to get scrappy soon. If you need some inspiration, just head over to the Let's Scrap Sketches blog for our newest sketch and lots of fun inspiration from the Design Team!

Here is the sketch for July 1:

And here is my take on the sketch:

I just did one 12 x 12 layout instead of the normal double page layout--but that is the beauty of sketches. They are just a starting point for your creativity!

I used lots of older boy collections from Echo Park for this layout. It was so fun to pick out all of the patterns for the different circles. I'm so glad to have these pictures in my scrapbook as well. My son is about two years old in these photos, but he will soon be turning sixteen!!!

I carried the circle theme throughout my layout by using these Shimelle wooden buttons. They are from the 'Little by Little' collection.

I loved being able to use this little bulldozer stamp from Sassafrass Lass on my layout as well. I mean how cute is that!?!

For the stars on my layout, I used a combination of a star punch and some epoxy stars from Pinkfresh Studio.

My title is made up from some alphabet stickers from an Echo Park collection and some tiny tile stickers from Jillibean Soup.

Overall, a very simple layout but the memory is documented and that is what matters most!

Hope you enjoy my take on the sketch! Join us on the 15th for a new sketch!

Let's Scrap Sketches Design Team: Boy Life

Hello my scrappy friends!! Can you believe we are already half way through June? With that being said, it's reveal time at Let's Scrap Sketches! Here is the sketch for June 15:

And here is my take on the sketch:

Instead of a double page spread of two 12 x 12 layouts, I switched it up and did a 12 x 12 layout on the left and a 6 x 12 layout on the right! I love how it turned out!

I dug DEEP into my stash of scrapbooking supplies and photos for this layout. These photos are of my oldest son when he was about 2 years old. He will soon be 16!! Wowzers!!

My inspiration for this layout came from the sketch of course, but also from this awesome cut file from Paper Issues. They have lots of free cut files and I just adore this one! I cut it on my Silhouette portrait using white cardstock from Michael's and then backed the letters using paper from my stash. I know some of the paper is from Jillibean Soup, but I've had most of it so long that I can't remember where its from!!

I dug out some old felt pieces that I believe are from Fancy Pants from many years ago. That frog is just so adorable and perfect for a fun, outdoor layout. I used lots of the felt stars as well.

For all of the stamping on my layout, I used an October Afternoon  stamp set.

I used green and blue archival ink that I bought from Michael's to do my stamping. I inked the edges of everything on my  layout using distress ink in the color of tea dye.

For my journaling area, I stamped a large parenthesis using some brown chalk ink and then outlined it with a brown Zig pen to make it stand out.

On the right side, there is a little pocket that holds some tags.

I found a paper in my stash that all the letters of the alphabet and each letter had a corresponding word to describe boys. I cut out the letters that spelled my son's name and stuck them in the pocket.

I hope this sketch will inspire you to dig deep into your stash of supplies and/or pictures and get your memories documented. Don't forget to link your layout on the Let's Scrap Sketches blog for a chance to win a prize!!
